KBL helps keep the temperature cool during the Puri Rath Yatra

July 04, 2019

Ratha Jatra is an annual public procession observed once in the month of Ashadh in Puri, Odisha, which involves the followers pulling a chariot (ratha) carrying deities Jagannath (Vishnu avatar), Balabhadra (his brother), Subhadra (his sister) and Sudarshana Chakra (his weapon) across a 3 km stretch from the Jagannath temple located across the main street of the city to the Shri Gundicha Temple. Every year, the yatra attracts millions of pilgrims.

This year KBL actively participated in the Yatra by providing its support in the form of a water tanker positioned at the venue for sprinkling water on the pilgrims to provide them cooling relief as the temperature in the corresponding month is very high, hot and humid. Besides, we also set-up a stall at the city entrance for the distribution of prasad and packaged water bottles to the devotees. This year, the event was attended by over 10 lakh people.
