CMD Sanjay Kirloskar

Dear Stakeholders,

Celebrating 100 years of pump manufacturing and marking our 106th Annual Report, Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL) stands proud of a century-long legacy that has materially shaped India’s development. Our pumps have powered irrigation, securing farmers’ livelihoods, supported industrial growth and manufacturing, enabled urban water supply and sanitation and underpinned critical infrastructure projects, driving productivity, resilience and improved quality of life across the nation. This legacy is complemented by 116 years of continuous operation at our Kirloskarvadi plant, a historic centre of engineering excellence and manufacturing heritage that remains central to our capability and culture.

As we mark another year of progress, I do so with pride, purpose and a profound sense of responsibility. For over a century, KBL has moved beyond manufacturing pumps; we have been a partner in India’s development. From enabling irrigation and water security to supporting industrial growth and urban infrastructure, our solutions have played a vital role in the nation’s progress. Reaching the centenary milestone of pump-manufacturing excellence is not merely about longevity; it affirms our sustained commitment to reliability, innovation and nation-building.

Our international business, led by the Kirloskar Brothers International B.V. Group, delivered a resilient and well-balanced performance despite a challenging global environment. Stable margins, consistent underlying growth and disciplined execution enabled the Group to achieve a significant milestone, with all entities reporting profitability for the first time since inception. Backed by a strong order backlog and a continued focus on operational excellence, the business is well-positioned for sustained growth in the years ahead.

We consolidated leadership across high-value infrastructure segments. Orders for Concrete Volute Pumps (CVPs) reinforce our capability in large-scale engineered solutions. Our retail footprint also expanded through PetroTurbo outlets, reflecting a customer-first approach that enhances accessibility and responsiveness to evolving market needs.

We take particular pride in our contributions to India’s defence and strategic sectors. During the year, KBL supplied advanced canned motor pumps for INS Taragiri and INS Udaygiri, hermetically sealed, leak-proof systems engineered for critical onboard applications. Delivering such complex solutions underscores our deep engineering capabilities and commitment to national security. Our products also support critical infrastructure at key sites, including Navi Mumbai, Guwahati and Noida International Airport, ensuring safety and operational reliability.

As India accelerates its transition to cleaner energy, our engagement with the nuclear power programme has strengthened. KBL remains a trusted partner, providing high-precision, mission-critical pumping solutions that meet stringent nuclear standards and support the nation’s sustainable energy objectives.

Innovation continued to be a strategic priority. We launched KirloSmartTM 2.0, along with KirloSmartTM Fire and KirloSmartTM Nano, expanding our IoT-enabled portfolio for real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance and enhanced system reliability. Our new range of IoT controllers and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) further advances intelligent control, energy efficiency and optimised performance across applications, reinforcing our vision for smart fluid management.

Operational and quality excellence remain non-negotiable. Our pump testing facilities received NABL accreditation and we further aligned with global standards by obtaining Hydraulic Institute certification. The Kirloskarvadi plant’s TPM Excellence Award and the Golden Peacock Award for Sustainability, along with recognition for quality and environmental leadership, reflect our ethos of continuous improvement. Additionally, the Advanced Technology Product Division (ATPD) achieved ISO 19443 certification, underlining our commitment to quality and safety in the nuclear sector.

KBL remains a trusted partner, providing high-precision, mission-critical pumping solutions that meet stringent nuclear standards and support the nation’s sustainable energy objectives.

Sustainability is intrinsic to our strategy. We are intensifying initiatives that improve energy efficiency, reduce environmental impact and promote responsible resource management. Our solutions are designed not only to meet today’s requirements but to contribute to a more resilient and sustainable future.

Looking ahead, we will continue to convert challenges into opportunities by leveraging technology, deepening capabilities and strengthening partnerships. With a century of legacy as our foundation and a forward-looking approach as our guide, I am confident that KBL will unlock new avenues of growth while playing a pivotal role in nation-building. At KBL, we do not just respond to change, we engineer it, with purpose, precision and a commitment to a better tomorrow.

My sincere gratitude to our customers, partners, employees and shareholders for their trust and support.
