Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), KBL’s CSR initiatives are aimed at creating holistic impact on communities through focused initiatives in healthcare, education, skill development, environmental sustainability and animal welfare.

Skill Development

- Expanded Aaranyak’s biodiversity conservation initiatives by providing two EV scooters and two motorbikes to enhance field operations, research and community outreach activities
- Planted 1,200 seed balls and 435 saplings at Kundal Forest to enhance green cover
- Planted 40 trees at Sagareshwar Forest, contributing towards biodiversity conservation
Healthcare
- Organised a blood donation drive at KEPL KOV Campus in association with Hindratna Prakashbapu Patil Blood Bank, Sangli, with 111 employees donating blood to support healthcare needs
- Conducted personal hygiene and hand wash awareness sessions for 250 students from nearby schools of Ramanandnagar
Wildlife Conservation & Rehabilitation
- Supported the establishment of a Wildlife Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at RESQ Charitable Trust in Pune, enabling critical care for injured and distressed wildlife

RESPONSIBLE SOURCING
We are committed to building a resilient and sustainable supply chain that supports long-term value creation. Our sourcing practices encompass ethical procurement, ensuring utilisation of raw materials that are recyclable, biodegradable, or derived from renewable sources, while embedding the principles of reduce, reuse and recycle across procurement activities. We strictly adhere to the Sustainable Sourcing Policy and Integrated Management System to strengthen sourcing practices.
We strive to build long-term partnerships with suppliers, supporting them through training, technology sharing and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce supply risks. Preference is given to partners adhering to internationally recognised certifications such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ensuring sustainability is embedded across the value chain. Ongoing initiatives such as category-based procurement, strategic partnerships, including with Vendor for energy-efficient motors and logistics optimisation through CNG vehicles, milk-run models and green transportation further reduce emissions and improve efficiency.
Through continuous supplier engagement, sustainability awareness programmes, responsible waste disposal practices and collaborative joint development projects, KBL is strengthening supply chain resilience, lowering costs, mitigating risks, unlocking new revenue opportunities and reinforcing brand value.
The Company strengthened its supplier engagement through focused digitalisation and relationship-building initiatives. A web-based supplier onboarding and grievance portal was implemented to enhance transparency, efficiency and ease of interaction. To recognise and encourage performance excellence, appreciation cards were awarded to vendors for their contributions. communication, quality of services, payment process and overall collaboration and relationship management.
The Company has established a comprehensive framework to ensure responsible and sustainable supplier management. Supplier policies emphasise ethical business conduct, requiring adherence to the Code of Ethics with zero tolerance for bribery, corruption, fraud, or conflicts of interest. Suppliers are expected to comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements while aligning with sustainability principles by minimising environmental impact and promoting responsible sourcing practices. The Company is committed to upholding human rights and labour standards, prohibiting child or forced labour and ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions and non-discrimination. Additionally, suppliers must adhere to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements, focusing on regulatory compliance, workplace safety and reduction of waste, emissions and resource consumption. Regular audits and compliance monitoring are conducted and any non-compliance may lead to corrective actions or termination, as outlined in the Supplier Code of Conduct.
Supplier Engagement & Strategic Partnerships (Steel Industry)

Supplier code of conduct:
- KBL is a strong follower of business integrity, ethics and governance and has absolutely zero tolerance on unethical business practices. We expect our suppliers to conduct their business with utmost integrity, honesty, transparency and adhering to all applicable laws & regulations. KBL is committed to environmental sustainability and deeply values ESG principles. We expect our suppliers to minimise their environmental impact by implementing sustainable practices, reducing waste, recycling and conserving natural resources
- We also encourage suppliers to practice and follow all applicable wage laws and regulations including, but not limited, to minimum wages, duration of payment, overtime hours, equal remuneration etc
Supplier Audits
To strengthen supplier governance, the Company has implemented a structured supplier audit and evaluation program. This includes prior qualification of suppliers for critical categories such as bought-out components, casting, fabrication and subcontracting services. Supplier performance is evaluated quarterly in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team, while annual internal and statutory audits are conducted, along with specialised audits for high-impact areas such as casting and logistics. Supplier development programs are also undertaken to enhance capabilities and drive continuous improvement across the value chain.
Sustainable Packaging
We ensure the usage of recyclable materials across our facilities. Key initiatives include the utilisation of plant scrap within foundry operations, replacing wooden boxes and pallets with fabricated recyclable bins at the Dewas facility and introducing polypropylene (PP) boxes for inward material packaging in place of wooden materials. We have also initiated Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) for seals, bearings, fasteners, foundry consumables and motors, while transitioning to materials compliant with RoHS standards. Efforts are also underway to eliminate plastic wrapping at the Sanand plant, reinforcing KBL’s commitment to reducing waste.

In alignment with KBL’s strategic objectives and policies, KBL has established APOEMs equipped with advanced testing facilities across all zones. Each APOEM plant is supervised by a dedicated KBL quality expert, ensuring strict compliance with our rigorous quality standards and parameters. As part of our commitment to excellence, we require all dealers to procure and sell KBL-branded “APOEM” pumpsets, which include KBL-branded pumps and motors, thereby delivering world-class products to our customers.
Dealer/Retail Engagement Activities
Digitisation & Digitalisation: As part of its continuous efforts to strengthen dealer engagement, KBL is leveraging digital technologies to enhance operational efficiency and communication across its dealer network. Through integrated digital platforms, dealers have seamless access to real-time product information, sales insights and training resources, enabling them to respond effectively to evolving market demands and deliver superior customer service.
Annual Recognition of Excellence: KBL celebrates and recognises top-performing partners both within India and internationally for their exceptional contributions to our mutual success.
Training and Development: KBL conducts technical and behavioural training programmes at plants, regional offices and partner locations to enhance skills and empower partners.
Regular Engagement through Business Events: KBL hosts annual functions, regional conferences and business meetings to foster open communication, gain valuable feedback and understand our partners’ needs and perceptions.
Collaborative Marketing and Promotions: Product promotion campaigns and marketing activities are carried out in close collaboration with both customers and channel partners, boosting visibility and market reach.
KBL-KBC Quiz: A dedicated knowledge-building initiative, the KBL-KBC Quiz, allows our partners to participate via a dedicated app. Winners are honoured at the Annual Dealer Conference.
Monitoring and Guidance: KBL regularly assesses the performance of partners, offering guidance to help them meet business objectives, adhere to commercial policies and ensure consistent growth.
Market Engagement through Exhibitions: Our partners participate in targeted exhibitions and advertisements, helping us showcase our products and strengthen our presence in key markets.
Direct Engagement and Feedback: KBL conducts one-on-one discussions with our dealers to gather valuable market feedback, which helps to make informed decisions and continuously improve products and services.
Channel Partner Meet:
This was a 2-day programme involving one-to-one discussions with the dealers to seek their feedback and understanding their concerns. There was ‘Rewards & Recognition’ session to felicitate the top performers across various categories. It was a well-utilised platform to engage with the dealers and plan the business for the year ahead.
