JMD’s Message
As we celebrate 100 years of pump manufacturing, we do so with immense pride in a legacy that has consistently enabled progress across the nation.
Dear Stakeholders,
There are defining moments in the life of an organisation that transcend milestones and become enduring symbols of vision, purpose and national contribution. For Kirloskar Brothers Limited, January 1926 stands as one such landmark moment. The manufacturing of India’s first indigenously built centrifugal pump was not merely the beginning of a product journey; it was the foundation of a movement rooted in engineering excellence, industrial self-reliance and nation-building. It marked the emergence of an institution that would go on to play a vital role in powering India’s infrastructure and development for generations.
As we celebrate 100 years of pump manufacturing, we do so with immense pride in a legacy that has consistently enabled progress across the nation. For a century, KBL’s solutions have supported irrigation systems that strengthen agricultural prosperity, powered industries that fuel economic growth, enabled urban water management and contributed to critical sectors essential to national development. Today, our capabilities extend far beyond conventional applications to some of the country’s most complex and strategic projects, including nuclear power plants, defence infrastructure, energy systems, large industrial networks and modern urban utilities. Every solution we engineer carries a larger purpose: to move not just water, but progress itself, improving lives, strengthening infrastructure and contributing meaningfully to India’s growth story.
This centennial milestone is not only a celebration of our heritage, but also a powerful reaffirmation of our future aspirations. Our theme, “A Century Strong. Infinite Motion.”, embodies the spirit of KBL, resilient in legacy, progressive in vision and relentless in innovation. It reflects our commitment to continuously advancing through technology, digital transformation, sustainability, manufacturing excellence and customer-centric innovation. More importantly, it reminds us that true leadership is not defined by longevity alone, but by the ability to evolve with purpose, adapt with agility and create enduring value for generations to come.
During the year, we further strengthened our manufacturing capabilities at Kaniyur, reinforcing KBL’s integrated manufacturing ecosystem spanning Kirloskarvadi, Dewas, Sanand and our joint venture and subsidiary operations. This strategic expansion enhances our ability to deliver with greater agility, scale and operational excellence, while advancing our vision of building future-ready manufacturing infrastructure capable of meeting evolving domestic and global demand with speed, quality and reliability.
Innovation continued to remain a key driver of our growth journey and technological leadership. During the year, we introduced a new range of advanced pumping solutions, including India’s first 17.5 cm submersible pumps (KU7P), the 10 cm borewell submersible pump series (LEHR), JOS Ultra and KOSI Ultra Openwell submersible pumps, the Chhotu Ultra mini-series, the Jalraaj-I and II Ultra Max range. Engineered for superior efficiency, reliability and performance, these products are designed to address evolving customer needs across diverse applications and markets. These launches reaffirm KBL’s commitment to developing future-ready solutions that combine innovation, sustainability, energy efficiency and customer-centric value.
The year also witnessed slower market conditions across certain sectors. However, KBL remained resilient and future-focused, leveraging its strong fundamentals, diversified portfolio, manufacturing strength and customer trust to sustain momentum and further strengthen its market position.
A particularly proud moment for all of us was the recognition received for our KOSI 135 pump, which was honoured with the “Best Appliance of the Year” Award at the National Energy Conservation Award 2025 in the pump category. This prestigious recognition reaffirms KBL’s commitment to engineering energy-efficient, sustainable and high-performance pumping solutions that set industry benchmarks and strengthen our leadership in an increasingly competitive and evolving market.
Our commitment to operational excellence received significant recognition during the year. The accreditation of the Hydraulic Research Centre Pump Testing Laboratory by the Hydraulic Institute, making KBL the world’s only pump company to receive this distinction, along with the TPM Award for the Kirloskarvadi plant, stand as strong endorsements of our manufacturing quality, process excellence and culture of continuous improvement. These achievements reflect the dedication of our teams and our relentless pursuit of world-class standards.
Innovation continued to remain a key driver of our growth journey and technological leadership.
As we enter the next chapter of our journey, we do so with the confidence of a 138-year legacy and the ambition of an organisation constantly looking toward the future. Guided by innovation, responsible engineering, sustainability and customer-centric growth, KBL remains committed to building solutions that not only power industries and infrastructure but also contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress. A hundred years of achievement have strengthened our foundation, but it is our vision for the future that continues to inspire us to move forward with greater purpose, determination and momentum.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our customers, financial institutions, employees, partners, shareholders and all stakeholders for their unwavering trust and support throughout this extraordinary journey. Together, we have built far more than an institution, we have built a legacy of resilience, excellence and nation-building. As we move ahead, we will continue to keep the wheels of progress turning, enabling growth, empowering communities and shaping a future driven by innovation and infinite possibilities.
