Mr. Pradyumna Vyas has acquired Masters in Industrial Design (M Des.) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and was awarded an Honorary Master of Arts degree from the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, United Kingdom in 2010.

With more than 38 years of professional and teaching experience in different spheres of design, Prof. Vyas was associated with NID for 30 years, first as a faculty member and later as the Director of the Institute from 2009-2019.

He is a former Director of National Institute of Design (NID), India’s premier design institute. He is currently the senior Advisor for Design Promotion and Innovation at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and President-elect of the World Design Organisation (WDO). He has also been chairing the jury of the Design Excellence Award organized by Business World one of the leading business magazines of India. Appointed as a member of the Academic Committee of the World Eco- Design Conference (UN Consultative status NGO) in 2024.

Mr. Vyas has been conferred with multiple awards like below:

• – Outstanding Contribution to Education at World Education Congress 2015
• – Lifetime Achievement Award by Times Education Icons 2017
• – Nomination as a jury member for the Good Design Award (G-Mark) Japan by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion consecutively in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016
• – Intelligence Award 2024, China, the Taiwan International Students Design Competition 2024, Taiwan, and the Golden Pin Design Award 2024, Taiwan

He has been at the helm of design affairs in India and globally, and his illustrious career has been marked with several national and international milestones and accolades.
