In a significant step in its journey towards sustainability, KBL has signed a solar open access Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to power the company’s manufacturing facilities at Kirloskarvadi and Kolhapur.
The 13.5 MWp solar project will generate approximately 20 million units of clean energy annually, substantially increasing the renewable energy usage for the Kirloskarvadi plant from existing 25% to 75%. The Kolhapur Steel Limited (TKSL) will also boost its renewable energy usage to up to 75%. Through this solar power agreement, KBL will significantly reduce its carbon footprint, offsetting 14,200 metric tonnes of CO2e emissions yearly. This aligns with the company's commitment to environmental stewardship and contributing to the nation’s renewable energy-powered economy.
KBL has a long-standing reputation for promoting sustainable practices across its operations. This partnership with Sunsure Energy further demonstrates its leadership in the manufacturing sector’s transition to renewable energy not only through innovative fluid management solutions but also by embracing clean energy to power its operations.
