Renewable Energy

KBL is committed to harnessing renewable energy to power a cleaner, more sustainable future. Through solar and wind installations at our facilities, we actively reduce our carbon footprint and fulfill our energy requirements responsibly. Currently, KBL has 4 MW of wind power alongside 3.2 MW of rooftop solar capacity.

Additionally, KBL has signed a Solar Open Access Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to power the manufacturing facility at Kirloskarvadi. The 11 MWp solar project generates approx. 20 Million units of clean energy annually. This has helped in substantially increasing the renewable energy usage at Kirloskarvadi plant from the existing 25% to 70%. This initiative has led to a significant reduction in KBL’s carbon footprint by offsetting 14,200 metric tonnes of CO2 eq emissions yearly.
