Circularity
At KBL, our strategy for material circularity is focused on minimising waste, maximising resource efficiency, and extending the lifecycle of materials used in our operations.
We are committed to integrating circular economy principles by promoting the reuse, recycling, and recovery of materials. Through these efforts, KBL aims to achieve “Zero Waste to Landfill” status for the manufacturing plants by 2030
Driving Responsible Resource Stewardship
Our approach to waste management is guided by the principles of prevention, reduction, reuse, recycling and responsible disposal. By embedding these principles into our operations, we aim to reduce waste generation, enhance material recovery and promote a more circular economy.
Reducing Waste at Source
Waste prevention begins at the design and process stage. KBL focuses on improving operational efficiency and optimising material usage across its manufacturing facilities.
Through better production planning, process optimisation and quality control, we work to minimise scrap generation and material loss. Lean manufacturing
practices and continuous improvement initiatives further help reduce avoidable waste while improving productivity.
By prioritising resource efficiency, we aim to lower the overall environmental footprint of our operations.
Responsible Segregation and Handling
Waste generated at our facilities is segregated at source into recyclable, non-recyclable and hazardous categories. This ensures safe handling and maximises
opportunities for recovery.
Defined procedures are in place for storage, transportation and disposal and we work with authorised partners to ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations. Regular internal reviews and audits support adherence to statutory and internal standards
Recycling and Material Recovery
Recycling plays a key role in our circularity efforts. Recyclable materials such as metal scrap, packaging materials and other by-products are channelled through
approved recyclers to re-enter the value chain.
By diverting recyclable waste away from landfills and promoting recovery wherever feasible, we contribute to conserving natural resources and reducing demand for virgin raw materials.
We continuously explore opportunities to enhance recovery rates and improve waste diversion performance.
