Kirloskar Brothers Limited commemorate the nationwide

Centenary celebration of North Zone in New Delhi

New Delhi, January 17, 2011: Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL), a leading global water management solutions company, recently hosted the nationwide centenary celebration of North Zone in New Delhi. To celebrate this occasion Mr. Arun Bharat Ram, Chairman, SRF Limited joined Mr. Sanjay Kirloskar, Chairman and Managing Director, KBL and Mr. Vikram Kirloskar, Vice Chairman, Toyota Kirloskar Motors Private Limited and other distinguished guests for a day long function.

Mr. Vikram Kirloskar, Vice Chairman, Toyota Kirloskar Motors Private Limited commenced the function by extending a warm welcome to the chief guest. While addressing, he said, “Our multi-unit, multi-product, multi-location conglomerate is built on the plinth of experience, expertise, quality, innovation and values in the business. For us it is not only a business but is always an activity of nation building.”

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Mr. Arun Bharat Ram lauded KBL for it’s ethical and value based culture. He expressed his concern on the malpractices that exists in our country today and stressed that unless our own house is in order, crony capitalism will eat into the very soul of our political and social fabric. This being the precise reason why such family run businesses like KBL are so important today. He concluded with a thought, “We must keep searching for a story to tell our families and friends about the meaningful contributions we make in business. I feel it’s possible to make such contributions if we remember who we are and why we exist.”

Mr. Sanjay Kirloskar, Chairman and Managing Director, KBL, said, “The global pump industry is fragmented, with over 800 manufacturers in India itself. A decade back, on our 90th foundation day, I had said that by 2010, we should try to achieve at least a 1% global market share which was 0.3% at that time. I am happy to inform you that Team KBL has actually garnered a market share double that, at 2% ! We had aspired to become one of the top 15 companies in the pump business by 2008, we achieved this ranking a year before – in 2007 itself. From four factories in India we now have another five around the world humming with activities making KBL a Global Indian Multinational organization.“
