Yamuna – The corporate office of Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL), Pune was inaugurated by Jalpurush and Magsaysay Award winner Shri. Rajendra Singh, on April 10, 2009

The KBL corporate office needed to be rooted strongly in the local context with global reach and outlook and reflect the client’s commitment to the environment, quality and excellence. The key focal point of this project is the collective commitment by Kirloskar Brothers Limited and the architect, Venkatraman associates to build green.

Located on the main Pune-Bangalore highway, the project involves creation of an environment that would be protecting occupant health; improving employee productivity; using energy, water and other resources more efficiently and reducing the overall impact to the environment. The facility needed to reflect KBL’s worldwide commitment to energy efficiency and sustainable development considering climatic factors, site conditions and service requirements it is designed to house 500+ employees, in the campus having a corporate office, club house and utility center.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Sanjay C. Kirloskar, Chairman and Managing Director - KBL said: In this 100 years’ journey, we gave India its first iron plough, centrifugal pump, diesel engine, electric motor, lathe, reciprocating compressor, canned motor pump and many more, which have been instrumental in India’s agricultural and industrial development. In this way, our company’s history is instrumental in economic and industrial revolution in India.
