KBL won USD 22 Mn (Rs.110 Cr. approx.) contract in Egypt

Kirloskar Brothers Limited has won a prestigious contract worth US $ 22 M (INR 110 Cr.) from Mechanical & Electrical Department (MED), Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, Egypt for construction of new Irrigation pumping stations at Benban and Rozaikat, on turnkey basis.

KBL secured these contracts which are being financed by KFW (Kreditanstalt fϋr Wiederaufbau) Germany through international competitive bidding against stiff competition from European bidders.

KBL scope of contract includes design, manufacture, supply, erection, commissioning, testing and handing over of Mechanical & Electrical equipments, Civil and structural work. Benban pumping station will have total 4 Nos. of KBL make large vertical turbine pumps of each 4000 LPS capacity and Rozaikat pumping station will have 4 Nos. of 6000 LPS capacity Vertical Turbine pumps coupled with HT Motors.

These pumping stations will be used for large scale irrigation in south Egypt. This is another big contribution from KBL in greening the deserts of Egypt.

Benban Irrigation Pumping Station is located near the old city of “Aswan” and Rozaikat Irrigation Pumping Station near the famous tourist place “Luxor”. Egypt operations are being handled by Cairo office of Kirloskar Brothers Limited.
